At the same time, as the UN reported on Twitter, Antonio Guterres visited the Faculty of International Relations of Lviv National University as part of his visit to Ukraine.
"This school has made very important contributions, particularly to the Charter of the UN. One of the members was involved in the drafting of the Charter, and its values have been debated here. In Holocaust studies and in material dealing with several very important aspects of the analysis of violations of human rights and genocide as well. That is why it is very important for me, as the secretary of the UN, to have the opportunity to visit this faculty of Lviv University", Guterres said.
It is also known that the UN Secretary General received a visit from the rector, who spoke about the significant contribution of the university to world science, international law, and diplomacy.
On August 18, a meeting of the presidents of Ukraine, Turkey, and the UN Secretary General will be held in Lviv, during which potential steps will be considered aimed at increasingly actively supporting the activity of the mechanism formed for the export of Ukrainian grain to world markets, and at ending the war between Ukraine and Russia with the help of diplomatic means.
