Ukrainian troops repel Russian attacks near 11 settlements - Ukrainian General Staff

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the day, the enemy launched 4 missile and 5 air strikes and conducted more than 40 MLRS attacks.

The Russian forces attempted unsuccessful offensives on Avdiivka, Lyman, and Zaporizhzhia directions, and continued to attack Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Baknmut direction. Russian forces stay on the defensive on other axes.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks in the vicinities of Stelmakhivka and Novoselivske, Luhansk region, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Bilohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Stupochki, Novobakhmutivka, Pervomaiske, and Marinka, Donetsk region.

“Additional Russian troops were deployed to the towns of Vynohradove and Brylivka (Kherson oblast) on January 18-21, 2023. The newly arrived personnel is armed with small arms only, bulletproof vests were worn only by few and no military equipment was noticed,” the message reads.

Russia continues to suffer losses. According to the available information, Dniprorudnyi city hospital, Zaporizhzhia region is full of wounded Russian military personnel. Just recently, about 150 Russian soldiers have been delivered to the hospital. At the same time, most of the hospital staff refused to cooperate with the invaders, thus the Russian forces were forced to deploy doctors and other staff from Russia.

During the day, the Air Force launched 3 airstrikes on the concentration of enemy troops. 1 Russian Orlan-10UAV was shot down. Ukrainian missile and artillery troops attacked 4 concentrations of Russian troops and 3 ammunition depots.

The shelling of Ukrainian regions:

On the border with Belarus and Russia, no offensive groups were detected. The vicinities of the three settlements in the Sumy region and eight in the Kharkiv region suffered mortar and artillery fire. 

Lyman direction: five settlements in the Luhansk region suffered Russian shelling.

Bakhmut direction: the vicinities of 21 settlements came under Russian fire, including eight settlements in Donetsk oblast.

Avdiivka direction: six settlements came under Russian fire.

Novopavlivka direction: Russia used artillery and mortars in the vicinities of two settlements in the Donetsk oblast.

Zaporizhzhia direction: more than 20 settlements came under artillery fire, including, three settlements in the Donetsk oblast; seven in the Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Kherson direction: the areas of six settlements of the region, and Kherson city suffered MLRS attacks.

The Ukrainian General Staff reminded that the threat of Russian strikes remains throughout Ukraine.
