Ukrainian troops launch 12 strikes at Russian military positions, destroy 3 UAVs per day - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on May 21.

It is also noted that during the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 3 enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types.

“Missile and artillery units hit the weapons and military equipment concentration area, 2 munitions depots, 2 artillery units at firing positions and another important enemy target,” the report says.

Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. To launch missile strikes on the Ukrainian cities of Lyman, Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka, the enemy used S-300 air defense systems, which are not high-precision weapons. This emphasizes the tactics of terror on the part of the Russian Federation.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire line of contact: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, 2 more in the Sumy region, as well as 10 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Shelling of Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 12 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, 6 settlements in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, 6 localities in the Donetsk regions were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, 8 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Marinka direction, 3 towns and villages came under Russian fire. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 7 settlements of the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, 13 cities and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the Russian army.

On May 21, the Russian army shelled the Donetsk region, killing two men and hospitalizing six local residents.
