Ukrainian troops advance from 350m to 1.4km in the Berdiansk sector
Ukrainian Armed Forces had some gains in the Berdyansk sector and advanced into enemy territory from 350 metres to 1.4 km.
This was reported by the spokesman of the joint press centre of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in the Tavria sector Valeriy Shershen.
"In the course of the Tavria offensive in the Berdiansk sector, our strike units had partial success and advanced from 350 metres to 1.4 kilometres behind the enemy lines. Fierce fighting for Staromaiorsk continues," he said.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Melitopol sector remained unchanged.
According to Shershen, due to dense mining, Ukrainian demining groups and assault units are carrying out demining activities, inflicting fire damage, while the rest of the strike units are consolidating their positions at the occupied lines and are ready for further offensive actions.
At the same time, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing the step-by-step advance of Ukrainian troops. The occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position in the vicinity of Pryiutne.
Over the last day, 285 attacks on Ukrainian military positions took place in the Donetsk region. The enemy attacked the Marinka sector 13 times. In this sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the Russian army's advance in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka and Marinka
The enemy conducted unsuccessful attacks around Novomykhailivka and launched air strikes near Blahodatne and Makarivka.
At the same time, Ukrainian assault groups advanced towards the enemy on one of the defence lines and improved their tactical position as a result of a successful local counterattack.
Under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks near Avdiivka and Nevelske. At the same time, the Russian forces shelled more than 10 nearby settlements, including Karlivka, Sieverne and Nevelske.
In total, over the past day, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian military’s positions 14 times and fired 504 times.
- On July 24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian army continued attacking in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, and heavy fighting was ongoing. Over 35 combat engagements took place in the past day. Over the day, Russia lost 660 soldiers, 11 tanks and an air defence system in Ukraine.
