Ukrainian strikes on bridge, railway in Kherson region impedes Russian logistics - UK intelligence
Russian forces have had to install a pontoon bridge across the river Dnipro in Kherson region after Ukrainian army strikes on the Antoniv bridge, according to British intelligence. Russian troops are also trying to restore the region‘s railway connection with Crimea.
This was reported by the British Defense Ministry on Twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that due to the Ukrainian attack on a Russian train with ammunition in the Kherson region, it is very unlikely that the railway connection between Kherson and Crimea will remain in working order. Russian forces are likely to repair the rail line within days, but it will remain vulnerable.
Russia recently deployed a ferry crossing to replace the damaged Antoniv bridge over the Dnipro and assured that it is intended for civilian use. However, the British are convinced that the Russian military will almost certainly use it to move troops and logistics.
"It is likely we will see an increase in civilians attempting to flee Kherson and the surrounding area as hostilities continue and food shortages worsen. This will create pressure on transport nodes and routes, likely resulting in measures to control movement being implemented," the British intelligence concluded.
