Suspilne reported the information.

The man was captured near Pokrovsk.

"First, one group [of Russian soldiers] caught him, and then they took him to the basement, where there were completely different soldiers. There were two of them, and these two abused him," the defender's wife told journalists.

Yevhen, Vladyslav’s brother, recounted, “He said that the first men who were captured (they were from reconnaissance units) had their eyes gouged out, lips cut off, male organs mutilated, and ears and nose removed.”

Vladyslav was the last of eight soldiers thrown into the pit, where the Russians assumed they were all dead. Using a shard of glass, he freed his hands, bandaged his wound, and crawled for five days toward Ukrainian positions until reaching safety.

He was hospitalized in Dnipropetrovsk region in critical condition with severe blood loss and festering wounds. After surgery, he remains in intensive care. Vladyslav cannot speak and records his experience in a diary.

Doctors assure that they will do their best to restore his ability to breathe and speak independently.
