Ukrainian soldier executed by Russian troops turns out to be Moldova’s native, Chisinau responds
On March 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova has responded to the shooting of Oleksandr Matsievskyi by Russian troops for saying "Glory to Ukraine"
This is stated in an official statement.
The ministry noted that Oleksandr Matsievskyi was born in Molodova, near Chisinau.
"Following confirmation by the Ukrainian side that the Ukrainian soldier executed by Russian soldiers was Oleksandr Matsievskyi, the Ministry strongly condemns the murder of a Moldovan citizen, an act that can be qualified as a war crime and a gross violation of international humanitarian law," the statement said.
The ministry expressed its condolences to Mr. Matsievskyi’s family and assured of solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
"We reaffirm the firm position of the Republic of Moldova in condemning the brutal war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Our country remains committed to supporting Ukraine in its efforts to return to peace and stability," the statement reads.

He was a sniper of the 163rd battalion of the 119th separate brigade of the Chernihiv region, Oleksandr Matsiyevskyi. It was established that he executed on December 30, 2022.
