Ukrainian Security Service will investigate supply of Iranian weapons to help Russia in war against Ukraine
Ukrainian Security Service investigators have launched criminal proceedings to identify all those involved in the supply of Iranian kamikaze drones and short-range ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation
The Ukrainian Security Service informs about this.
They note that there is every reason to claim that the Iranian authorities and representatives of the industrial and defense complex are deliberately helping Russia in the war with Ukraine. Therefore, the investigation should establish by name all those involved in the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation, as well as establish the methods and routes of transportation of these weapons and further bring the culprits to justice.
The head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Vasyl Malyuk, noted that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are currently providing a legal assessment of Iran's actions. Work is currently underway to prove the Iranian origin of the Geran and Shahed-136 drones with the help of expertise.
"Whoever plans for Russia to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities and villages should also be held responsible for the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation. Because you cannot knowingly sell sharp knives to a maniac, and then be surprised that he kills people," Malyuk emphasized.
Currently, the Ukrainian Security Service has opened proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code (assistance to the aggressor state). The sanction of the article provides up to 12 years of imprisonment.
