Ukrainian parliament calls on NATO to speed up Ukraine's accession to Alliance
On April 10, Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, voted for a resolution to appeal to NATO states and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to speed up Ukraine's membership process
Lawmaker Oleksii Honcharenko reported that the resolution №9192 was supported.
The Verkhovna Rada calls on the parliaments of NATO member states and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to implement the decision of the 2008 Bucharest NATO Summit on Ukraine's membership.
The MPs believe that NATO member states should ask their governments to facilitate the adoption of joint documents with Ukraine to support its approach to future membership during the spring session of the NATO PA in Luxembourg and the NATO Summit in Vilnius.
In addition, NATO member states are invited to authorize their governments to take all measures to convene a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of leaders with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO Summit in Vilnius.
