Ukrainian National Guard shoots down Russian Su-25 attack aircraft near Bakhmut

Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the information.

The ministry noted that the defenders of the National Guard of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-25 from the Perun air defense system on the night of March 6. It happened near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, from a distance of up to 4 kilometers.

"The enemy attack aircraft was covering the infantry advancing on the defense line from the air. The man-portable air defense system opened fire and shot down the Russian armored attack aircraft. We saw through a thermal imager that the aircraft was hit and went down, the fate of the pilot is unknown," said the Partizan division commander.

• Earlier this morning, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that over the course of March 7, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Buk missile system, a Zoopark radar and hit Russian personnel concentrations.
