Ukrainian military finds no signs of Russia's preparations for ground offensive from North
The Commander of the Ukraine’s Joint Forces Serhiy Nayev visited the Northern Operational Zone and stated that there are currently no signs of Russians' preparation for a ground offensive in the Volyn direction
This was reported by the press service of the AFU's Joint Forces Command, according to Espreso TV.
"There is no threat at the moment, but it may arise in the future. And it will take at least a month and a half for the enemy to build up the necessary forces and launch offensive actions here starting from today," Nayev said.
According to him, the purpose of the trip is to check the fulfillment of the tasks set a month ago. In particular, it is about mining the area, equipping new defensive positions, strengthening the protection and defense of important civilian critical infrastructure.
"We have outlined what else needs to be done, what specific assistance needs to be provided to the soldiers in order to strengthen their positions and increase the effectiveness of our defense capabilities. In particular, the number of observation posts has been increased on the border in Rivne region, new strongholds have been established, more than 15 new strongholds have been opened, tens of thousands of mines have been laid, at least 20% of which are guided anti-personnel mines," the commander said.
