Ukrainian Armed Forces name soldier executed by Russian troops for saying "Glory to Ukraine"

A serviceman who was shot dead on camera by Russian troops for saying "Glory to Ukraine," has been identified

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Yesterday, a video of the execution of a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who was shot dead by Russian occupiers after saying "Glory to Ukraine," was published on social media and in the news. According to preliminary data, the deceased is a soldier of the 30th separate mechanized brigade, Tymofiy Shadura," the statement said.

The Land Forces noted that Tymofiy Shadura had been missing since February 3, 2023. He disappeared near Bakhmut.

"Currently, the body of our serviceman is on the temporarily occupied territory. The final confirmation of his identity can be established after the body is returned and the relevant examinations are conducted," the military said.

The Land Forces expressed sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Hero.

At the same time, Volodymyr Silenko, commander of the 30th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozky, said he was not sure of the accuracy of the identification.

"The fact is that we cannot officially confirm the identity yet, because even his family has doubts. Unfortunately, those who were with him died or are in serious condition in hospitals. His sister, who saw the video and photos, is still saying with uncertainty: "Yes, it's him...", said Silenko.

He added that the body of the deceased is now in the territory uncontrolled by Ukrainian troops. Therefore, DNA testing will be conducted, if possible, after its evacuation.

"Such a person, under such a name and patronymic, served in my brigade in the 3rd battalion, but the person is one hundred percent identical..." Silenko said.
