Ukrainian intelligence service reveals potential reason Putin decided to attack Ukraine on February 24

Ruslan Skibitsky, from the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, has said that Vladimir Putin shifted the attack on Ukraine to February 24 to coincide with the date of Russia's invasion of Crimea.

Skibitsky said this in an interview with The Telegraph.

According to him, a Ukrainian intelligence network is operating behind Russian lines. It was she who reported that the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine was initially planned for February 15, but Vladimir Putin personally ordered it to be postponed to February 24, because he wanted it to coincide with the date of the invasion of Crimea in 2014.

Skibitsky noted that back in 2015, the department headed by him was tasked with penetrating the decision-making centers of the Russian Federation, and it was successfully completed.

"It is very easy for Ukrainians to work with the enemy, because we had the same language, the same appearance and until recently the same mentality, and before that we were one country. Many Ukrainians lived or lived in Russia and had a very good state career. There are many Ukrainians in management positions in Russia," Skibitsky said.

He assured that the Ukrainian agency in Russia has a strong cover, as very intensive counter-intelligence work is being conducted there.
