Ukrainian theater singer killed in action
Oleksandr Serdiuk, a singer at the Kyiv Academic Theater of Ukrainian Folklore Berehynia, was killed while on a combat mission. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in late April

The theater shared the news on Facebook. The 42-year-old Serdiuk died on August 24 in one of Ukraine's most intense warzones.
The Ministry of Culture has confirmed his death. Serdiuk enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on April 29, 2024.
“Everyone will remember him as a kind, decent, talented, sincere, and honest person - a loving and caring son, a loyal friend who was always ready to help. He deeply loved his family, valued his friendships, and cherished his relationships with his comrades,” wrote Vitalii Kolisnichenko, the mayor of Hrebinka, Serdiuk’s hometown.

In early August, 26-year-old Finnish military volunteer Ville Mykkänen, who fought for Ukraine against Russia, was killed in the Luhansk region.
