
Ukraine returns 909 bodies of fallen defenders
On Friday, March 28, as a result of repatriation efforts, the bodies of 909 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine
This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among those who have returned home "on their shield" are defenders who perished in battles in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia sectors, as well as those whose bodies had been stored in morgues on Russian territory.
The return of the fallen defenders was made possible through the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures within Ukraine’s security and defense sector.
Law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will identify the deceased in the shortest possible time.
