Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks in Donetsk region, about 30 engagements take place over one day - General Staff

About 30 combat clashes take place on the frontline over the last day: General Staff’s briefing

Russian troops attack in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, heavy fighting continues. About 30 combat clashes took place there over the day, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff in its morning report on July 14.

Russia launches 52 air strikes, 2 Kalibr and Iskander-M missiles, and 20 Shahed drones on Ukraine

On July 13, Russian occupying forces launched a missile and air strike on Ukraine, using 2 Kalibr cruise missiles, 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile and 20 Iranian Shahed strike UAVs. As a result of successful combat operations, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 2 Kalibr cruise missiles and 20 attack drones. 

Russian forces also launched 52 air strikes and about 50 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Civilians, including children, were injured, and residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure were destroyed.

Last night, on July 14, Russian forces attacked the territory of Ukraine, using Iranian Shahed attack UAVs. Information on the consequences of this attack is currently being clarified.

The threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The situation in different regions of Ukraine

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops carried out an air strike near Veterynarne, Kharkiv region. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 15 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense line.

Russian troops carried out air strikes near Kyslivka and Kotliarivka. They also shelled 6 settlements across the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful offensive east of Novoselivske, Luhansk region, and Terny, Donetsk region.

Furthermore, Russian forces carried out air strikes near 3 settlements and shelled over 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with artillery.

In the Bakhmut direction, under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all attacks near Berkhivka.

Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defense forces hold back the Russian offensive near Pervomaiske, Donetsk region, under heavy fire from Russian artillery. 

Meanwhile, Russian troops  launched an air strike near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, and shelled over 15 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks near the town of Marinka. 

Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful offensive near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

Russian troops launched an air strike near Makarivka and shelled 6 other settlements. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces’ priority is preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops.

Russian forces carried out air strikes near 6 settlements and shelled over 20 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions, inflicting artillery fire, and conducting counter-battery operations.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attack Russian personnel concentrations, hit 2 ammunition depots and 1 more important target

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out 8 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel and 2 on anti-aircraft missile systems.

In turn, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit a concentration of Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots, 10 artillery pieces at firing positions, 3 air defense systems, a counter-battery radar station, an electronic warfare station and another important target.
