Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks in 14 cities and villages

This is reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the morning summary from November 9.

"The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, focusing efforts on deterring the actions of the Defense Forces in certain areas. Conducts offensive operations on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions," the message says.

Over the past day, on November 8, units of the Ukrainian defense forces repelled attacks by invaders in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region and Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Klishchivka, Mayorsk, Novomykhailivka, Opytne, Pavlivka, Pervomaiske, Soledar and Yakovlivka in the Donetsk region.

The enemy conducts attacks on units of the Defense Forces along the contact line, carries out fortification equipment of the borders in specific directions and conducts aerial reconnaissance. It also continues to strike at critical infrastructure and civilian homes, violating international humanitarian law, laws and customs of warfare.

Over the past day, the enemy has inflicted 7 missile and 32 air strikes and implemented more than 70 multiple-launch rocket attacks.

Russian occupiers hit areas of more than 35 localities Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

The enemy carried out attacks:

• in the Siversk direction - from barrel artillery, near the village of Popivka, Sumy region

• in the Slobozhansk direction - from tanks and various artillery in the areas of the settlements of Ambarne, Budarky, Vilkhuvatka, Hoptivka, Dvorichna, Zemlyanki, Melove and Starytsa of the Kharkiv region

• in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions - from the artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements of Berestove, Krokhmalne and Cherneshchyna of the Kharkiv region; Makiivka, Nevske, Novoselivske, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka of the Luhansk region and Terny and Yampilivka of the Donetsk region

• in the Bakhmut direction - from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Zalizne, Klishchivka, Mayorsk, Opytne, and Soledar, Donetsk region

• in the Avdiivka direction - from tanks and the entire range of artillery in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka, Vodyane, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Nevelske, Netailove, Novomykhailivka, Opytne and Pervomaiske, Donetsk region

• in the Novopavlivsk direction - from tanks, mortars, barrels and rocket artillery in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Volodymyrivka, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Mykilske, Neskuchne, Pavlivka, Prechystivka and Shevchenko settlements of Donetsk region

• in the Zaporizhzhia direction - from various-caliber artillery in the areas of the settlements of Stepove and Charivne, Zaporizhzhia region

in the Southern Buh direction, areas of more than 30 settlements near the contact line were shelled. The enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Nova Kamianka and Belohirka, Kherson region.
