Ukrainian forces repel 32 Russian attacks in Avdiivka sector, 20 in Marinka sector - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this. 

Over the last day, the Russian troops launched 27 missile strikes, 27 airstrikes, and 49 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

On December 8, the Russian forces attacked Ukraine using 20 Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles, an Iskander-M ballistic missile, and 6 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 14 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles.

"Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged," the General Staff emphasized.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in frontline Ukrainian regions

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, about 10 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, about 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

Defense Forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire on the enemy.

Ukrainian army's strikes against Russian troops

The missile units struck 3 Russian military positions and 1 electronic warfare station.

• On the morning of December 8, the Russian troops launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. They were moving through the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions to the Kyiv area. During the missile attack, the Russian army launched 19 Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles at Ukraine, 14 of which were shot down by air defense.
