Ukrainian forces hit Russian command post, 2 munitions depots – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on May 31.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation launched 9 strikes on the invading Russian forces' military positions. 

Over the course of the day, the missile forces and artillery struck a control center, an artillery unit at a firing position, 2 munitions depots, as well as 2 electronic warfare stations.

The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 2 Russian reconnaissance UAVs.

Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory:

Russian terrorists launched 2 missile strikes, 22 airstrikes, and about 20 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

The threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Frontline situation

According to the report, the Russian troops continue their attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Over the last day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 16 enemy attacks. 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, 4 more in the Sumy region, as well as 17 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupiansk direction, 10 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, 7 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, 12 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

• In the Avdiivka direction, 10 settlements of the Donetsk region came under Russian fire. 

• In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian defenders repelled all Russian assaults. However, 9 localities in the Donetsk region came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, 7 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 24 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.
