Ukrainian forces eliminate 780 Russian soldiers, 8 tanks, and 29 artillery systems in one day – General Staff
During the past day, the Ukrainian military repelled enemy attacks in the Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, eliminating 780 Russian invaders
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 8.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to November 8, 2023, were approximately:

Situation on the main frontlines
In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.
In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 6 attacks there.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near the Serebrianske Forestry.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops tried to regain lost ground near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, where the Ukrainian military repelled 6 attacks. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continued their assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.
In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops try to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense, inflicting numerous losses on Russian forces. Russia’s offensive actions near Avdiivka and 3 more settlements in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful; the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled over 14 attacks.
In the Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful attacks near Marinka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 17 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled the assault near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy did not launch any assaults.
In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots, and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions, and exhausting Russian troops.
Russian army launched 6 missile strikes and 50 air strikes against Ukraine
In the last 24 hours, there were 45 combat clashes. The enemy conducted 6 missile and 50 air attacks and launched 64 MLRS attacks on our troops and populated areas.
Airstrikes hit several areas, including Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Pishchane, and Proletarske in the Kharkiv region; Nadiya, Serebrianka Forestry in the Luhansk region; Riznykivka, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Klishchiivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, and Rivnopil in the Donetsk region; as well as Tyahynka in the Kherson region.
More than 80 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were subjected to artillery fire.
Ukrainian forces hit 7 Russian artillery systems and 2 command posts
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted 17 strikes on areas with enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, and 4 strikes targeted enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
Missile forces units successfully targeted 7 artillery units, 2 control points, a fuel and lubricants warehouse, an area with enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, an anti-aircraft defense installation, 2 radar stations, and an enemy electronic warfare station.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have moved a limited number of armored vehicles to the left bank of the Kherson region, where several hundred Ukrainian defenders are currently in operation.
