Ukrainian forces destroy 1 SAM, launch 12 attacks on Russian personnel concentrations – General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in a morning report on July 1.

In addition, Ukrainian missile and artillery units also hit 1 control center, 6 concentrations of Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment, 3 ammunition depots, 24 artillery pieces at firing positions and an electronic warfare station.

Russian troops launch 58 air strikes and 50 MLRS attacks on Ukraine in a day

The report states that over the past day, Russian troops launched 8 missile and 58 air strikes, as well as over 50 MLRS attacks at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, military and civilian infrastructure facilities in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

The situation in different regions of Ukraine

"The enemy is attacking in Lyman, Bakhmut and Marinka directions, heavy fighting is ongoing. There were 22 combat clashes over the last day," the statement said.

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting about 15 settlements across Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 3 settlements. They also shelled 6 settlements across the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 4 settlements and shelled over 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with artillery.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 settlements and shelled over 15 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian forces shelled over 15 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops attacked over 10 more settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes on 2 settlements and shelled over 15 others. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops launched an air strike on Antonivka, Kherson region, and shelled over 50 towns and villages across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Russian troops use civilians as human shields in the Kherson region

Russian occupying forces continue to use civilians as human shields. In the village of Topolivka, Kherson region, the Russian military command is settling its soldiers in private houses inhabited by civilians.

As Ukrainian Armed Forces make progress and inflict heavy losses on the enemy, desertions among Russian occupying forces are on the rise, with soldiers abandoning their combat positions without permission.

"In particular, about 50 ethnic Dagestani servicemen from the Caspian flotilla, near the village of Dorozhnianka, Zaporizhzhia region, refused to participate in fighting. The Russian objectors disabled the weapons available to the unit," the statement reads.
