Syrskyi said Ukrainian forces have broken through Russia’s so-called “Dobropillia salient” and are working to inflict heavy losses on Russian troops.

According to Syrskyi, control was restored over another 2.2 square kilometers of territory in the past day. He added that strike-and-search operations were conducted in a 3 square kilometer area of Pokrovsk district in Donetsk region, where assault units advanced between 100 and 1,400 meters in some directions.

“In the course of fighting here, 52 occupiers were eliminated, and the enemy’s total losses for the day amounted to 80 personnel. Overall, during the counteroffensive in the Pokrovsk district, 177.8 square kilometers have been liberated and 198.9 square kilometers cleared of saboteurs,” Syrskyi added.

According to him, total Russian losses on the Dobropillia front as of the morning of October 1 amount to about 3,320 personnel, including 1,864 irrecoverable.

“The invaders have lost 971 units of weapons and military equipment, including: 14 tanks, 38 armored combat vehicles, 202 artillery systems, 5 MLRS, 453 vehicles, 61 motorcycles and ATVs, 1 specialized vehicle, and 197 UAVs,” the Commander-in-Chief added.

During his trip, Syrskyi also held a working meeting with the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, where they discussed issues related to conducting combat operations, defending the region’s settlements, and anti-drone equipment for road infrastructure.
