Ukrainian drones inflict over $10 billion in losses on Russia so far this year – Syrskyi
In the first five months of 2025, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and other military units targeted facilities deep inside Russia, causing the occupiers more than $10 billion in losses
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said this during a press briefing on June 22.
He stated the goal of these operations was to weaken Russia’s military and economic capabilities.
As a result of the strikes, Russia suffered direct losses of $1.3 billion, mainly through the destruction of oil refineries, power stations, logistics hubs, and transport infrastructure. Another $9.5 billion in indirect losses came from factory shutdowns, disrupted transport, and blocked supply chains.
Syrskyi said the cost-effectiveness of the DeepStrike campaign stands at a 1-to-15 ratio “for every dollar we spend, Russia loses around fifteen.”
“Of course, we will keep going with strikes on Russian territory under DeepStrike,” Syrskyi said. “We’ll increase both the scale and range. We’re not targeting civilians, we’re hitting strictly military sites.”
- On June 15, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, working with other branches of the Defense Forces, hit a key facility of Russia’s military-industrial complex in the city of Yelabuga.
