Ukraine's defense forces seize Andriivka in Donetsk region

The Ukraine's General Staff announced the liberation of Andriivka.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, in the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces still keep a group of troops protecting the state border, conduct active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas and increase the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group on the Bakhmut directions, the Russian army continues its attempts to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses in the area of Bohdanivka. In turn, the Defense Forces had partial success in the area of Klishchiivka during the offensive. During the assault operations, they seized Andriivka in the Donetsk region, inflicted significant losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian forces, and consolidated their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the Russian invaders carried out unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Lastochkyno and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. There, over the past day, the Russian troops made about 10 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukraine's units out of their positions. In addition, all enemy attacks in the area of Marinka, Donetsk region, resulted in significant losses for the Russian occupiers in both manpower and equipment.

Instead, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the situation was difficult and changed dynamically several times during the day.

"The General Staff in this morning's report officially confirmed that Ukrainian troops captured Andriivka yesterday as a result of fighting," she wrote. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers are holding the initiative, putting pressure on the Russian enemy, conducting assault operations, and regaining Ukrainian territory.

In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces continue their offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces near Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue their counter-battery combat, destroying supply depots and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Russia launches 2 missile strikes and 59 air strikes on the Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, there were 25 combat clashes.

Russia launched 2 missile strikes and 59 air strikes, fired 56 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian objects.

Also, yesterday the invaders attacked Ukraine with 22 Shahed-136/131 type kamikaze drones, 17 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Port infrastructure, private homes, and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

4 settlements in the Kharkiv region, 2 in the Luhansk region, 7 in the Donetsk region, and 3 in the Zaporizhzhia region were subject to air strikes.

About 100 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroy the command post and 3 air defense systems

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of Russian personnel and military equipment concentration.

Missile and artillery units and unmanned aerial vehicles destroyed 1 control center, 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, 5 artillery units, and 1 ammunition depot.

• On September 14, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the Ukrainian military had liberated the village of Andriivka near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, but the 3rd Separate Mechanized Brigade denied the statement and called it false.
