Ukrainian army destroys 22 Russian tanks, 18 artillery systems, 740 Russian soldiers in 24 hrs – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 28, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel ‒ about 298,420 (+740 per day) persons,
• tanks ‒ 5,167 (+22),
• APV ‒ 9,749 (+23),
• artillery systems – 7,180 (+18),
• MLRS – 834,
• Anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 558 (+2),
• aircraft – 320,
• helicopters – 324,
• UAV operational-tactical level – 5,399 (+9),
• cruise missiles ‒ 1,541 (+3),
• warships / boats ‒ 20,
• submarines – 1,
• vehicles and fuel tanks – 9,524 (+11),
• special equipment ‒ 1,011.

Russian army continues attempts to regain positions near Andriivka and encircle Avdiivka

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains military presence, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to critical frontline areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy did not have offensive (assault) actions, continuing to regroup troops.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy tried unsuccessfully to regain the lost position near Andriivka, where Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks. Ukrainian army continues assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka, but Ukraine's soldiers are holding the line, inflicting numerous losses on their enemy. Russia's offensive actions in the areas of Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomayske in Donetsk region were unsuccessful, where the defense forces repelled 15 enemy attacks.

In the Marinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops repelled more than 20 Russian attacks there.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks near Vodiane, Zolota Niva and Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy tried to regain the lost position northwest of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region, but was unsuccessful.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and depleting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces are carrying out counter-battery combat, inflicting fire damage on Russia's rear.

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones at night: air defense shot down most of the enemy's air targets

In total, the enemy launched 8 missile and 15 air strikes, fired 61 times from MLRS at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Also yesterday, the Russian occupiers launched another missile and air strike against Ukraine, using 4 Kh-59 guided missiles, an Iskander-M ballistic missile, S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missiles and Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.

Air defense forces and means destroyed most of the attack UAVs and 3 Kh-59 guided missiles. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Air strikes were carried out in: Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region; Beryslav, Vesele, Kherson region.

About 80 settlements in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Defense Forces hit Russian deployment areas 9 times

During the day, Ukrainian military aviation carried out 5 strikes on the concentration areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 4 more on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops hit 4 areas of deployment of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 8 artillery pieces, 2 ammunition depots, a heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A Solntsepek and 3 Russian air defense systems.
