Ukrainian Army carries out successful counteroffensive in Kharkiv region - Regional Military 

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Head Oleg Synegubov released a statement giving details of what happened.

"We have good news from the front line. Our Armed Forces carried out a successful counteroffensive, yesterday morning they launched offensive operations against the Russian invaders. There were long, fierce battles during the day", he says.

Ukrainian forces pushed the invading Russian forces back, out of Bezruky, Slatine and Prudyanka in the Dergachiv direction. The Armed Forces of Ukraine has further entrenched its position in the region.

Synegubov also noted that on April 22, Russian troops delivered 56 strikes on civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv and the surrounding region., killing two people and injuring 19. Russian forces continued to shell residential areas of Kharkiv from the east overnight.
