This was stated by Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Oleksandr Voitko on Espreso TV.

"We can talk about the direction Velyka Novosilka - Vuhledar - this is the south of Donetsk region. In the direction of Velyka Novosilka, fighting for Staromayorske continues, Russian occupants are still in this settlement, but our units are trying to move further south," he noted.

Regarding the Vuhledar direction, the military noted that intense fighting is also ongoing there, but the enemy has gathered a very large group of troops because Volnovakha is not far away, which serves as an important transportation hub for them, especially after the Crimean bridge was blown up.

Voitko added that there are no significant advances in the Vuhledar direction, but the enemy is also suffering significant losses in personnel and equipment, and Ukrainian troops are trying to advance toward Volnovakha.

  • On July 19, Russia lost more than two companies of soldiers and 15 pieces of military equipment in the Tavria direction. According to the General Staff, the Russian army lost a total of 530 soldiers, 6 tanks, and 33 UAVs during the war in Ukraine.
  • Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost 240,690 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. On July 20, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled Russian terrorists' attacks at the Kupyansk, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka directions.
  • On July 21, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had succeeded in three areas, consolidating their positions and inflicting artillery fire on the identified Russian targets.
