Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully launch counteroffensive in Donetsk as well as Kherson region - ISW

This is stated in the daily summary of the Institute for the Study of War.

American analysts note that the counteroffensive is noticeably developing in the South and East of Ukraine.  The Armed Forces of Ukraine are advancing in several directions in the western part of the Kherson region and have gained a foothold on the territory beyond the Siverskyi Donets River in the Donetsk region.

Experts predict that the pace of the counteroffensive will change dramatically from day to day as Ukrainian forces attempt to deprive the Russians of supplies, destroy their command posts and weaken morale.

"The Russians will occasionally counterattack and retake some of the lost ground and launch fierce artillery and air strikes against liberated settlements and advancing Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian forces have made significant progress to begin to elicit more realistic comments from Russian military propagandists who  until today, they listened to the optimistic rhetoric of the Kremlin," ISW concluded.
