Ukrainian Armed Forces repel attacks in 10 cities and villages - General Staff summary

This is stated in the Morning Report of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on December 20.

The enemy launches missile and air strikes and holds units of the Belarusian Armed Forces and Russia in the border areas

On December 19, the Russian forces launched 4 missiles and 60 air strikes, as well as carried out more than 80 attacks from multiple launch missile systems. Civilian infrastructure and the population were affected by the strikes.

The threat of Russian air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure facilities remains throughout Ukraine.

On the border with Belarus, the situation remains without significant changes. No signs of Russian offensive groups' formation have been found. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces and Russia continue to be located in the border areas with Ukraine.

Near the Ukrainian border with Russia, mortar attacks were carried out on the three settlements of the Chernihiv region and five of the Sumy region. In Kharkiv region, Russian forces carried out mortar and artillery attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions in seven settlements.

In the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, Russian forces fired tanks, mortars, barrel and missile artillery in three settlements of Kharkiv region and six of Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, Russian forces continues to conduct assault operations. They fired tanks, mortars, barrel and missile artillery at our positions in thirty settlements. Particularly, these are fifteen settlements of Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces continues artillery attacks on Ukrainian troops positions and civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro river. Four settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region and six of the Kherson region were affected.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked concentration areas of Russian army and repelled attacks in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions

Over the past day, units of the Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian attacks in three settlements of Luhansk region and seven in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian aviation carried out 16 strikes on areas of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment and 6 strikes on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems' positions. The air defense forces shot down two Russian helicopters over the past day.

Units of the missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit an ammunition depot, 3 control points and 3 areas of Russian manpower concentration.

Russia's confirmed losses

Russia continues to suffer losses. The defeat of the Russian permanent deployment point was confirmed on December 18 near the village of Chaplynka, Kherson region. Information about the dead and injured Russian soldiers is being clarified.
