Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 39 attacks, Russian troops advance in three directions - General Staff

Russia keeps on with its plans to occupy Ukrainian territory and, despite losses, conducts offensives at the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in its morning briefing on April 26.

"Russia has concentrated on offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions," the statement reads. 

On April 25, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 39 Russian attacks in these areas. 

The fiercest fighting is for the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit an air defense system, an electronic warfare station and several areas of invaders' concentration

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on the areas of the Russian occupiers' personnel and military equipment concentration, as well as a strike on an anti-aircraft missile system. 

Also, 2 enemy reconnaissance UAVs were shot down - Zala and Orlan-10,

In addition, missile troops and artillery units struck an anti-aircraft missile system, 4 areas of Russian personnel concentration and their radar station during the day.

Russian forces launched 13 air and 3 missile strikes on Ukraine over the last day

Despite significant losses, the Russian Federation persists to occupy Ukrainian territory. It strikes and shells both military and civilian targets.

On April 25, the Russian enemy launched 3 missile strikes, including 2 missiles from S-300 air defense systems, at the center of the peaceful town of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region. There were civilians killed and wounded, the building of the local history museum, which is not located near any military facility, was destroyed, and other civilian infrastructure was damaged.

They also carried out 13 air strikes and fired 49 multiple rocket launcher systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and critical infrastructure in the area.

Situation in the following directions

The situation in the Northern and northwestern Ukrainian border remains unchanged. There are no signs of offensive groups being formed.

In the Northern and north-eastern part of Ukraine, Russian troops keep their military presence in the areas of Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod Russian regions bordering Ukraine. 

During the day, they fired artillery and mortar shells at 1 settlement in Chernihiv region; 9 in Sumy region, and 8 in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, 9 localities in the Kharkiv region came under hostile artillery and mortar fire.

The Russian army did not carry out any offensive actions in the Lyman direction. Four localities in the Luhansk region and six in Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian invaders continue to conduct offensive operations. Heavy fighting is ongoing for the city of Bakhmut. During the day, they unsuccessfully attacked the towns of Bohdanivka, Khromove and Klishchiivka. 10 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful offensives near the settlements of Sievierne and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. They fired at settlements near the contact line. In particular, these are 11 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed numerous Russian attacks in the vicinity of Marinka town yesterday. Five localities in the Donetsk region were subject to hostile attacks.

In the Vuhledar direction, the invading forces did not conduct any offensives. They shelled 10 localities in the Donetsk region.

The occupying forces hold defensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. During the day, they opened fire on over 40 localities and the city of Kherson. 

As a result of two guided aerial bombs hitting the village of Kizomys, more than 10 civilian houses were damaged. 2 of them were completely destroyed. The local church and other civilian infrastructure were also damaged.
