Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 15 Russian attacks in Avdiivka sector - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this on December 4.

Russian attacks against Ukraine

Russia launched 5 missile strikes, 44 airstrikes, and about 37 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Also, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have launched an airstrike against Ukraine, using a Kh-59 guided missiles and 10 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. 6 enemy drones and a Kh-59 guided missile were destroyed. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

On December 4, 67 combat engagements took place at the frontline.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly. Designated units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

Russian attacks in frontline Ukrainian regions

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling.

In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire

In the Bakhmut direction, about 15 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, more than 15 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Marinka direction, over 15 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, about 30 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes against Russian military positions

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire on the enemy.

During the day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 10 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positons and 2 on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops struck 3 manpower concentration areas, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, and 7 enemy artillery pieces.

• On December 3, Russian troops attempted to storm seven frontline areas, but Ukrainian defenders repelled most of the enemy attacks and killed another 770 Russian army soldiers.
