Ukrainian army is exhausting Russian forces in Bakhmut direction — General Staff

This is stated in the General Staff's report for November 9.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line," the statement said.

In turn, Ukrainian missile troops hit two Russian control points, 4 artillery pieces and an electronic intelligence station.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region. About 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops had unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 attacks there. Russian troops also launched air strikes near 2 settlements. Over 10 more settlements in the Kharkiv region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, Russian army launched unsuccessful assault operations near 2 settlements in the Luhansk region.  Russian troops conducted air strikes near 2 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Also, about 10 settlements suffered from Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks near Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. Over 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Avdiivka direction, Russian forces, supported by aviation, conducted assault operations southeast of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, and Pervomayske, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks there. About 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Marinka direction, Russian troops, with the support of aviation, carried out 23 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. They carried out air strikes near 2 settlements. About 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian enemy launched an assault near Zolota Nyva and Staromayorske, Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful. About 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Verbove and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks. They launched air strikes near Novodarivka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Kherson direction, four settlements in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson also came under Russian artillery fire.

• On Thursday, November 9, Russian terrorists attacked the Bilozerka community in the Kherson region. A woman died as a result of the attack.
