Ukrainian Armed Forces advance up to 2 km in Berdiansk sector - spokesman Shershen
Valeriy Shershen, spokesman for the Tavria Defense Forces' Joint Press Center, said that in the Berdiansk sector, the Ukrainian army managed to advance up to 2 km deep into the Russian defenses over the past day
He said this on Espreso TV.
"In the Tavria sector, the Defense Forces are systematically driving the enemy troops out of their positions and continuing to advance. In particular, in the Berdiansk sector, our units were able to advance 2 km deep into the enemy's defense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now consolidating the gained ground. We are conducting aerial reconnaissance of the area and delivering artillery fire on the identified targets. We are also conducting counter-battery combat and demining," said Shershen.
The Armed Forces captain emphasized that the Defense Forces continue to work on eliminating the Russian defense lines.
"I want to emphasize that the Russian troops are putting up fierce resistance. However, we are systematically pressuring them in certain areas of the frontline. We are pushing through their defenses and destroying the enemy's combat potential. Over the past day, the Russian army's irrecoverable losses amounted to 72 people, and 166 people were wounded," he added.
