Ukrainian Armed Forces advance in Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk sectors with heavy fighting

Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Hanna Maliar, reported the information.

She notes that Russian troops attack in Avdiivka, Marinka and Lyman directions.

According to Maliar, Russian troops have also advanced in the Svatove direction, where fierce fighting is taking place. They are attacking Bilohorivka and Serebrianka, the situation is difficult.

In turn, in the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing on the southern flank and have partial success. Fighting continues on the northern flank, Russian troops have deployed 2 air assault regiments there.

Maliar also commented on the situation in southern Ukraine.

"We are advancing in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions with heavy fighting, but gradually. 

Our troops are facing intense enemy resistance, remote mining, and the redeployment of reserves, but they are persistently and tirelessly creating conditions for the fastest possible advance," she wrote.

• Serhiy Cherevatyi, a spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that as of July 2, there were no intense urban battles in Bakhmut, as they were taking place on the southern and northern flanks around the city.
