Ukrainian Air Force shoots down 3 Russian Su-34 fighters in south
On Friday, December 22, Ukrainian military destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the southern direction
Commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykola Oleshchuk announced this.
"Today, at noon, in the southern direction - minus three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers!" the statement reads.
Kherson Regional Council deputy Serhiy Khlan told Espreso that the wreckage of the downed aircraft fell near Kalanchak and Chaplynka.
"I assume that the 'good Russians' who were on board and were bombing the right bank of Kherson region and Krynky, where our Armed Forces are located, are dead. The occupying Russian forces are massively bombarding settlements along the Dnipro River, using Su aircraft" Khlan said.
Khlan described the destruction of three Su-34s as a good signal that the Russian forces no longer have a safe zone.
"We hope that the number of guided bombs dropped by the enemy will be much smaller, or they may disappear altogether," noted Khlan.
