Ukrainian air defense destroy 34 Shaheds, 6 reconnaissance UAVs overnight
On the night of September 28, Russia launched 44 attack drones against Ukraine. The Air Defense Forces destroyed 34 Shaheds and 6 reconnaissance UAVs

Invading Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 44 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the southeast.
To repel the attack, the Defense Forces deployed fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, and mobile fire groups.
Over the past day, September 27, six reconnaissance drones of the operational and tactical level (Orlan, Zala, Superkam) were destroyed.
Instead, the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that air defense destroyed:
- 20 drones over the Mykolaiv region;
- 11 drones over the Kirovohrad region;
- 3 drones over the Odesa region.
Earlier, Operational Command South's press center head Natalia Humeniuk said during the telethon that Ukrainian air defense had destroyed over 30 enemy UAVs.
The operational situation is currently quite tense. According to the spokeswoman, the enemy does not stop attacking, exerting pressure and searching for new tactics.
"The enemy sent drones in different directions, including to the central regions. The results of this attack are still being analyzed, but the work of air defense was quite effective - more than 30 drones were destroyed, and the General Staff will calculate the exact number," noted Humeniuk.

On the night of September 28, Russia launched several groups of Shaheds flying over the southern regions of Ukraine. In return, the head of Mykolaiv region, Vitalii Kim, suggested that a record number of drones might be shot down that night.
