Nayev mentioned that there might be an increase in enemy forces near our brigade, but this alone won't be enough for offensive actions. As per military doctrine, the Defense Forces are always prepared to respond effectively to changes in the operational combat situation.
He highlighted that any actions by the enemy, including conducting exercises on their territory, pose an elevated risk.
"We are taking action. Commanders have received clear orders to enhance defense along Ukraine's state border and maintain high alert at all combat positions. We recognize that the enemy's actions can be unpredictable, but they should understand that we are constantly ready to respond appropriately," emphasized the Lieutenant General.
For context: The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) is an international military and political organization comprising Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Unlike NATO, there are no specific criteria for joining the CSTO, such as democratic requirements or economic and judicial reforms. Russian authorities aim to position the CSTO as an alternative to NATO and work to increase its significance in international relations. Since December 2004, the CSTO has observer status at the UN General Assembly.
