Ukraine's State Border Guard Service reports on situation on Belarus border
There are currently no reports of the creation of strike groups on the territory of Belarus that could invade Ukraine. However, the enemy should not be underestimated
Andrii Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, said this during a telethon on March 23.
According to him, the enemy may resort to provocations.
“Speaking of the Belarus direction, there are no reports of any strike groups being formed that could invade Ukraine. However, the enemy should not be underestimated even though it does not have sufficient forces in these areas. The Russian enemy may resort to provocations,” the spokesman said.
He noted that there has been no recent activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
The spokesperson also added that engineering and fortification work is underway to strengthen the border to prevent the aggressor from invading. The 2-kilometer strip of land on the border with Belarus and Russia, regardless of who owns it, is being transferred to the State Border Guard Service to reinforce the defense.
