Ukraine’s SBU shows successful hunt for rare Russian BMPT Terminator
The BMPT Terminator is an extremely rare and valuable vehicle for the Russian forces, so the enemy spared no effort to evacuate it, and the Ukrainian army took full advantage of this
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has demonstrated the destruction of a rather rare Russian combat vehicle - the BMPT Terminator armoured fighting vehicle, the number of which is limited in the Russian army. This vehicle was designed for supporting tanks and other AFVs in urban areas.
The attack was carried out using FPV drones, which methodically struck the vehicle itself and then a T-80 tank that was trying to evacuate the damaged tank support vehicle.
The video shows how the vehicle itself was caught in an attempt to fire on Ukrainian troops' positions, with the strike being delivered in the stern. This most likely caused an anti-tank missile to explode, the launchers for which are mounted on the turret.
After that, the crew of the Terminator left the front line, but the attacks continued, and after being hit head-on, the vehicle ended up in a ditch. An armored recovery vehicle was sent to evacuate it. This ended with new effective strikes on enemy vehicles.
Given the obvious value of the "no analogue" vehicle, as there were approximately several dozen of them in Russia, the enemy continued to try to pull the Terminator away and sent a T-80 tank.
The result was also quite natural for the occupiers. At first, FPV drones hit the tank several times, and then, when the "procession" was finally stopped, the artillery finished the job.
Thus, in this combat episode, due to the timely detection of Russian equipment that was moving to the forefront, the attack was not only repelled, but the rare piece of enemy military equipment was completely disabled, and another tank and an enemy armoured personnel carrier were destroyed during the evacuation attempt.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Terminator AFV has been destroyed. In fact, their first use on the battlefield was recorded in May 2022, when units of the 90th Tank Division of the Russian Army tried to advance towards the Bakhmut-Lysychansk road. At that time, the artillery was effectively fired on the Terminator. Perhaps some of them were disabled by the debris. The first verified destruction took place only in February 2023 in the area of Kreminna, Luhansk region.
