Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts to Orban's statement on war and US support
Ukraine’s MFA has called the statement of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting as long as they are supported by the US "pathological disregard for Ukraine”
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister demonstrate pathological disregard for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people who are resisting Russian aggression, as well as his own political myopia. After all, the defeat of Ukraine in the war, which Viktor Orban indirectly calls for, would lead to a direct threat of Russian aggression for Hungary and Hungarians," the statement reads.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Orban could appeal directly to the leadership of the Russian Federation to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine.
"The Hungarian leader should ask himself whether he wants peace. If the answer is yes, he should use his close ties with Moscow to make it stop the aggression against Ukraine and withdraw its troops," the Foreign Ministry stressed.
In November, Orban appeared in public wearing a scarf with a part of Ukraine depicted as part of Hungary.
And on December 24, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine will be able to fight as long as the United States will support it.
