Ukraine's General Staff reports 25 combat clashes at frontline, army repels 11 Russian attacks in Marinka sector

The General Staff's report for September 22 states this.

During the day, 25 combat engagements took place

The enemy launched 5 missile and 40 air strikes, fired 19 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

Civilians in the village of Yurkivka, Zaporizhzhia region, and the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region, suffered from the missile attacks. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

The Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

• In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, 25 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. The enemy tried to regain the lost position near Andriivka, Donetsk region, but failed.

• In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

• In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, about 30 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army, including the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the invading Russian troops, and exhaust the enemy along the entire frontline.

In the town of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region, the local population continues to suffer from the actions of the Russian occupation troops, who are engaged in mass thefts due to the delay in cash payments and lack of food. In particular, the occupiers are forcing civilians to give them their domestic animals, food and canned goods.

Missile troops destroyed 2 anti-aircraft missile systems and 4 enemy artillery pieces

During the day, the Ukrainian aviation struck the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Command in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, 12 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and launched 4 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

• Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the line, conduct offensive operations at the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions, and destroy the invading Russian troops. Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 480 occupiers.
