Ukraine’s Defense Minister names three factors for successful offensive and emphasizes aviation's importance
For a successful offensive, the Ukrainian army must adhere to three factors: to put the enemy on the defensive, deprive it of air dominance and destroy logistics chains
This was stated by Oleksii Reznikov during a joint briefing of the Ukrainian and Dutch defense ministers at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center, Ukrinform reports.
For a successful offensive, Reznikov said, the army must adhere to three factors: "First, put the enemy on the defensive. Second, deprive him of air dominance. Third, destroy his logistics chains. In these three tasks, aviation plays a role in two of them."
He noted that Ukraine's receipt of fighter jets would speed up the process of liberating the territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
The Defense Minister emphasized that Ukraine needs fighter jets primarily to improve and strengthen its air defense.
"We need an aircraft platform to improve and strengthen our air defense system, because the number of surface-to-air systems is not enough. We are fighting on the diplomatic front, convincing our partners that it is necessary to make a decision on the main combat aircraft as a defense element in the first place. The sooner we get combat aircraft, the more human lives will be saved," Reznikov said.
