Ukraine’s Defense Minister names expected number of tanks from West
Ukraine will receive from partners at least two battalions of Leopard 2 tanks and 6-7 battalions of Leopard 1 tanks
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said this at a briefing, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"I'm sure there will be at least two battalions of Leopard 2 tanks. And we'll probably have six or seven battalions of Leopard 1s with ammunition as well. It will be a coalition. Different countries will provide these Leopard 1 tanks," Reznikov said.
In addition, the Armed Forces will receive tanks of several other brands.
"There will also be Challenger 2 and Abrams tanks and AMX-10 light tanks from France," Reznikov said.
The minister suggested that Ukraine would receive Leopard 2 tanks by April 2023, but noted that this would depend on the training terms of the Armed Forces crews.
For reference: a tank battalion can consist of 30-40 tanks (10-12 tanks per company).
