Ukraine’s Defense Minister claims that Ukraine needs 4 times more shells than Europe offers
The EU's draft proposal to allocate 1 billion euros for the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine will not cover the needs of the Armed Forces. We need 4 times more
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov, Bloomberg reports.
"We need more. We need one million shells, and it will cost about four billion euros," the head of the department said.
Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson shares his opinion.
"The important thing is that Ukrainians are in dire need of ammunition, and we need to increase production in Europe. The main goal is to purchase from the European industrial base, but if there are other supplies from other countries, I don't think we should rule out this possibility," he said.
At the same time, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell believes that we should be realistic.
"Let's be realistic and pragmatic today. Don't talk about infinity, talk about what can be accepted today," he said.

Earlier, Reznikov asked his European colleagues to supply Ukraine with 250,000 shells a month.
