Reznikov tells EU number of shells Ukraine needs for offensive – FT
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has asked his European counterparts to supply Ukraine with at least 250,000 shells per month
This was reported by the Financial Times.
In a letter to his counterparts in the 27 member states of the European Union, Reznikov noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fire only a fifth of the required number of shells due to a lack of ammunition. On average, this amounts to 110,000 155 mm-caliber shells – a quarter of the amount used by Russia.
Ukraine’s defense minister said that for the successful execution of combat missions, the minimum requirement is at least 60% of the full ammunition set, namely 356,400 shells per month.

EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said that Brussels intends to propose a three-track plan to provide Ukraine with the necessary ammunition, which at the first stage provides for the rapid supply of 1 billion euros worth of shells.
