General Staff's report: Russian army tried to advance in three directions, but failed

Ukraine's General Staff reported this on September 20.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces continue to keep a group of troops protecting the state border. It is actively conducting sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas and is increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group on the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks near Yahidne, Donetsk region. The Russian army tried to regain lost ground near Andriivka, Donetsk region but had no success. Defense forces continue assault operations in the area south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on Russia, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Marinka direction, the Russian forces launched unsuccessful offensives in the area of Marinka, Donetsk region. Here, over the past day, the occupiers made 13 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions.

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Defense Forces continue to hold the line, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian attacks in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region resulted in significant losses in both manpower and equipment for the occupiers.

In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces continue their offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue counter-battery combat, destroying supply depots and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Russia launched 9 missile strikes and 79 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the past 24 hours, Russia attacked Ukraine with 31 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, 28 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense. The missile strike affected the civilian population of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro region. As a result of such terrorist actions of the Kremlin, there are killed and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Over the past day, there were 24 combat clashes. Russia launched 9 missile strikes and 79 air strikes, fired more than 60 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects.

Air strikes targeted 2 settlements in Chernihiv region; 1 in Sumy region; 2 in Kharkiv region; 1 in Luhansk region; 10 in Donetsk region; 2 in Zaporizhzhia region and 6 settlements in Kherson region.

About 100 towns and villages in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 Russian control points and air defense systems

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 1 command and control point, 16 strikes on areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and 3 strikes on Russian air defense systems.

The missile troops destroyed 3 control points, an anti-aircraft missile system, 9 artillery units, 1 ammunition depot and Russia's electronic warfare station.
