General Staff report: Russian forces tried to regain lost ground near Andriivka, but to no avail

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, in the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces continue to keep a group of troops protecting the state border, conduct active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas, and increase the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group on the Bakhmut directions, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled Russia's attacks in the area west of Zaitseve, Donetsk region. Russia tried to regain lost ground in the area northeast and east of Andriivka, Donetsk region, but had no success. Defense forces continue assault operations in the area south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russia, and consolidating the achieved positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Marinka directions, the Russian forces launched unsuccessful offensives in the area of Marinka, Donetsk region. Over the past day, they made 13 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukraine's units out of their positions. At the same time, in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Defense Forces are holding the line, taking the initiative and liberating Ukrainian territory.

In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces continue their offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, forcing them to withdraw from their positions. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers suffered significant losses in both manpower and equipment.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces are carrying out counter-battery operations, destroying supply depots and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Russian army launched 2 missile and 80 air strikes on the Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, there were 23 combat clashes. Russia launched 2 missile and 80 air strikes, fired over 49 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects in Ukraine.

Air strikes struck 1 settlement in Chernihiv region; 3 in Luhansk region; 8 in Donetsk region; 9 in Zaporizhzhia region and 5 in Kherson region.

About 90 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions were subjected to artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 11 artillery units and Russia's Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and 5 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile troops destroyed 1 area of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, 11 artillery units, the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system and an electronic warfare station.

• On September 21, the Institute for the Study of War reported that Ukrainian defenders continued offensives near Bakhmut in Donetsk region and in the west of Zaporizhzhia region.
