Ukraine's defenders exceed all NATO standards – MEP Andrius Kubilius
The Ukrainian army, which has become the largest military force in Europe over the past year, already exceeds NATO standards
Andrius Kubilius, Member of the European Parliament from Lithuania, made the statement on the United News national telethon.
"I believe that Ukraine exceeds all NATO standards. You have proved over the past year that the Ukrainian military, with the help of Western weapons, is the greatest force on the entire democratic European continent," the politician emphasized.
According to him, the question now is not whether Ukraine meets NATO standards, but whether other countries of the bloc meet the standard that Ukraine shows.
"It is absolutely clear to us that not only does Ukraine need to become a member of NATO in order to receive security guarantees, but the bloc itself needs Ukraine to become a member of the alliance as soon as possible. Because your experience and military strength would help make NATO stronger," Kubilius added.
