Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation publishes selection of Russian fake news for October 20
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of fake news produced by the Russian Federation on October 20.
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, on October 20, the Russians launched three major deceptions.
Disinformation: Russian media reported that “the widespread power outages and blackouts are Zelenskyy's fake to stop the attacks on the power system and elicit sympathy from the West... in order to increase the supply of weapons, as well as to review the price of electricity that Ukraine exports to the EU.”
Fake: Russian media spread the news that “Volodymyr Zelenskyy published the book My Struggle.” Stylistically, the cover of the book resembles A. Hitler's book Mein Kampf, a photo of which is also attached to the messages. However, Volodymyr Zelenskyy's book with that name does not exist, and the forgery is immediately indicated by two mistakes in the name of the President of Ukraine.
Manipulation: The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “leading Italian media continue to educate their population in line with the attitudes of Kyiv propaganda. Thus, ordinary citizens of the country are deprived of the right to critical analysis of information about the situation in Ukraine, including from the conflict zone.”
