Ukraine’s border guards repel attack in Bakhmut direction and capture Wagner’s PMC soldier
An assault group of Russians tried to seize the position of a Ukraine’s border guard observation post in the Bakhmut direction
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The SBGS says that Wagner's PMC units almost never stop storming the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Bakhmut direction. However, Ukrainian defenders meet the enemies with dignity.
During one of these assaults, the enemy tried to seize the position of the border guards' observation post.
"The invaders wanted to take down our fighters to the ground with heavy small arms fire and, in the meantime, get very close to them. But the border guards did not allow the occupants to realize their plan, opening fire in response," the border guards said.
Eventually, the enemy group retreated, leaving one dead stormtrooper on the battlefield. Another was taken prisoner by the Ukrainian border guards.
The prisoner turned out to be from Wagner PMC, a former convict. He said that he was recruited to the war in Ukraine from the Yakutsk colony, where he was serving a five-year sentence for inflicting bodily harm on an acquaintance. He said that the main motivation for him to go to war was the big money promised by the recruiters. The prisoner also claimed that he had not killed anyone, as he had been in Ukraine for only nine days.
